First of all let me say that I love to shop and am in no way wanting to put a dampener on what is a fantastic retail therapy experience, I’m just hoping to suggest a couple of baby bathing things which really aren’t worth bothering with. Secondly, I would say accept anything you are given for the baby along the lines of toys, high chairs, clothes etc – the chances are they will come in really handy. I completely get the desire for a new pram however, so won’t try and talk you out of that one, but would warn against second hand car seats and anything with a mattress: crib, cot, Moses basket etc as they are not a good idea from a health perspective. Whereas ancient toys were made from materials found in nature like stone, wood, and grass in modern world toys are often made from plastic, cloth, and synthetic materials. Ancient toys were often made by the parents and family of the children who used them, or by the children themselves. Modern toys, in contrast, are often mass-produced and sold in stores.
